Quarterly update – December 2022
As we near the end of 2022, we reflect back on the year at BrightMinded. There has been a lot of change, many exciting projects launched and of course some fun socials with the BrightMinded team!
2022 a year of rebuilding
After two tough years in 2020 and 2021 with the global pandemic, 2022 has been an exciting year for us at BrightMinded. We’ve really enjoyed getting out again, meeting clients and being able to work together as a team in our new offices in Platf9rm that we moved into this year.
A huge thank you and farewell to Dan Cowan
After more than 11 years at BrightMinded, one of our co-founders, Dan Cowan, has decided to retire from the company. Dan will be hugely missed by all of us at BrightMinded.
John, Cris, and Dan Murray met Dan Cowan in 2006 when they joined a company he co-founded, Codefarm. Since then, it has been an interesting, fun, challenging, rewarding, and sometimes emotional ride!
Dan brought a unique blend of problem-solving, analytical and outstanding technical expertise to the team. We have all learned so much from him and would like to say a huge thank you to Dan for his incredible part in shaping BrightMinded as it is today.
We wish Dan all the very best for the next chapter in his life and will miss him very much!
Projects
Putting members at the heart of technology decision-making
This quarter we launched a new membership website for The British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT). BAAT is the leading professional association for art therapists across the world and the UK.
We transformed the BAAT membership experience by using CiviCRM and WordPress to create a more fulfilling, self-service approach for members. From signing up to become a member, paying fees, renewing membership, connecting with other members, or tracking their personal development – we’ve delivered an enjoyable experience for members, supported by a modern software framework.
We’ve set BAAT on a new course for the future with a truly scalable technology solution.
BrightMinded Socials
Giving Dan a sendoff
In November, the team headed to Fatto a Mano for Dan’s leaving lunch. Unfortunately, no pics were taken as everyone was too busy eating lots of delicious pizza and having a lovely (although bitter-sweet) time!
Bouldering
David H, David Y, Cris, and Bradley recently headed to Boulder Brighton. David H had been bouldering before so he was an expert in showing the others how it was done. It was a successful trip – no broken bones! The team had a great time and highly recommend checking Boulder Brighton out!
Pub quiz
Anwen and Bradley also took part in a pub quiz at Platf9rm and had a brilliant evening!
